Borough Finalise 2019 VFL Playing List with 3 Recruits

The Port Melbourne is delighted to announce the signing of 3 new recruits for season 2019, which officially puts the finishing touches on the VFL playing list.

Xavier Fry (pictured, below): Signed as a rookie (Outside the list of 45, but has full playing rights). Small utility who is another product of the Oakleigh Chargers. Quietly spoken, but has been fantastic on the training track and has some serious upside.

Lachie Treverton (pictured, below): From Old Haileybury in the VAFA, Lachie is a tall forward who can also roll through the ruck and at 197cm adds some additional height to the list. Was formally listed with the Borough in the 2017 Premiership season prior to re-joining Old Haileybury for 2018.

Harvey Chinn (pictured, main image): Midfielder/Forward from Boronia in the Eastern Football League. Strong around the contest and knows how to get to the right positions.

Port Melbourne Football Manager Glenn Balmforth said the club were delighted to put the finishing touches on the playing list with just two weeks to go until the first practice match against the Northern Blues.

“These guys have been training since November hoping for a spot on the list, but with no guarantee, so this is a reward for their commitment and hard work, but more importantly they each add to our list from a playing and character point of view,” Balmforth said.

Balmforth said the club was happy with the way the pre-season had played out, and had high hopes that the list would take them deep into the VFL season.

“Overall we are very happy with where the list is at in terms of the players we have retained, experience we have added over the off-season with players like Ben Jolley and Jarryd Blair; but also the depth within our list,” he said.
