Borough to Don New-Look Heritage Kit in Round 11

The Port Melbourne Football Club are delighted to unveil our new-look Heritage Guernsey that will be worn by the Borough men when they welcome our oldest rivals Williamstown to ETU Stadium this Sunday for the annual Frank Johnson Heritage Day.

This week the selected 22 will be wearing a specially designed Heritage Jumper (pictured above) that is a tribute to club legend Frank Johnson and also the rich history of our proud Football Club.

The jumper, based on the jumper worn by the Club in the 1920’s, will have the signature and biography of Frank Johnson beneath the VFL competition logo, the Team of the Century players listed on the middle stripe, and 17 premiership trophies on the back dedicated to the Club’s 17 Premierships.

Port Melbourne and Williamstown, two of the oldest sporting clubs in Australia, announced their collaboration to strike the ‘Johnson-Callahan Cup’ in 2019 in honour of each respective club legend, Frank Johnson and Gerry Callahan.

This Sunday, along with every other home-and-away clash forthwith between Port Melbourne and Williamstown, will see the Johnson-Callahan Cup up for grabs.

The Seagulls currently hold the Cup having prevailed over the Borough in Round 3 under lights at Point Gellibrand.

The Port Melbourne player adjudged by members of the Johnson family to best afield on Sunday will also be awarded the Frank Johnson Tribute Medal, won in 2019 by midfielder Shannen Lange.
Each match-worn jumper will be auctioned off via eBay following the match. We will communicate this process to all Borough members and supporters once finalised.
