BOROUGH TRIPLE SIGNING COUP

CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT

Port Melbourne Football Club today announced a major signing coup with Tom Highmore, Roarke Smith and Billy Gowers all putting pen to paper and joining the Borough next season.

“It is exciting to have these three guys joining us in our 150^th season.  Not only do they bring skill but they bring leadership to the team which is very important” said Borough Head Coach Adam Skrobalak.

The trio, who have all hailed from the AFL, are a huge boost for the club and just about rounds out the playing roster for 2024.

“The team has been training well during our pre-season and having Gowers, Highmore & Smith now joining our sessions will only continue to strengthen our preparation for next season” Skrobalak added.

Smith, who played nearly 50 games with the Western Bulldogs including the 2021 Grand Final, says of his signing with the Borough “I can’t wait to get down to training with the boys and get stuck in.  The club is steeped in history and hopefully we will be able to really up the 150^th celebrations with a premiership in 2024”

Highmore and Gowers are also keen to see the team return to the finals next year and will be making their marks at either end of the ground once season kicks off.

“I am genuinely super excited about joining Port Melbourne.  I was really impressed with the environment the club has built, coupled with the list that has been compiled.  I hope to help the Borough have success in season 2024 and beyond!” said Highmore

“Hopefully there will be a lot for Borough fans to cheer about next season and we will see that scoreboard ticking over game after game” Gowers added, who is known to be handy in front of goals.

The team will be wrapping up next week and then back mid-January, primed for a big season in 2024
