Borough Welcome Lloyd and Searle for 2018

The Port Melbourne Football Club are delighted to announce the first of our official inclusions to the 2018 playing list seeking to achieve back-to-back VFL Premiership success.

The first is Billy Lloyd (pictured, below), who joins the Borough having most recently played four Senior SANFL games with North Adelaide in the past couple of years.

Originally from Horsham and subsequently part of the North Ballarat Rebels as a junior, Lloyd went on to win the Wimmera Football League’s Toohey Medal as the competition’s best and fairest in season 2015, before returning midway through 2017 from his stint at North Adelaide to play his part in Horsham’s Premiership.

The brother of Sydney Swans’ Jake Lloyd, Billy is a similarly tough and skilled player who can play both through the midfield and across half back.

Our second signing to be announced is that of a familiar face to Borough fans in former Oakleigh Chargers youngster Callum Searle (pictured, main image).

Callum played four Senior games as a 23rd Man in the 2017 season, including three between rounds 11-13, and in our Qualifying Final loss to Box Hill.

The club were extremely pleased with the signs that Callum showed during those games, and he has now returned to pre-season training determined to translate that exposure into a successful year as a skilful and hard-working forward/midfielder.

On behalf of the club, we would like to welcome both Billy and Callum on board the Borough for season 2018, and wish them all the very best!
