CEO Update – September 2021

An update from Paul Malcolm, Port Melbourne Football Club CEO

Hopefully you are all keeping well through this really difficult time. Let’s hope over the next couple of weeks we reach the vaccination numbers, and we can start to get out and about again.

Whist we are all still in lockdown there is plenty going on at the Borough.

Member offer – Borough Wellness

A couple of months ago we launched Borough Wellness program for our players and staff, and I am very pleased to say that we now offer this program to all our members and their families.

Borough Wellness is a free & confidential counselling service that we have set up in conjunction with one of our newest partners Drake WellnessHubs.

So if you are looking for some support or someone to talk to in confidence please make use of this great initiative.

Don’t forget now is a great time to check in with your mates and family and make sure that they are ok.

Football & Operations Update

We are in discussions with the stand alone clubs and the AFL for how next season will look and will provide more information when this is finalised.

Our Sub Committee is working through the VFL Head Coach applications that we have received, and we aim to have this process finalised in the next 2 weeks I will then be able to announce our new VFL Coach soon after.

We have today re appointed Lachie Harris as our VFLW Head Coach for season 2022 and look forward to another strong VFLW season ahead.

Last week we advertised for a Recruitment and Development Manager role which will help strengthen our football department and both programs moving forward.

We are currently working through a review of our membership and sponsorship packages for next season and we are finalising the clubs marketing strategy as well. Keep an eye out for more details coming out early next month.

Until my next update keep well and stay safe and go the Borough!
