CFMEU / ETU Partner with Borough for Further Three Seasons

By Borough Media on December 7, 2022

At the AGM on Sunday Port Melbourne Football Club announced that the CFMEU (Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union Victorian Branch) and the ETU (Electrical Trades Union – Victorian Branch) have both extended their agreement as our major club partners for seasons 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Port Melbourne FC President Michael Shulman welcomed the extension of the partnerships, noting that they reflected the ongoing commitment to the community of the three organisations involved.

Steve Long representing the CFMEU and ETU said that both organisations were proud to extend their partnerships with the Borough, especially coming after 3 tough years of COVID impact. For the CFMEU and ETU it is part of their community involvement.

“To extend for 3 more years at a combined total of $300,000 is a strong investment and shows that we are committed to supporting the club and its community,” says Long.

President Shulman thanked Steve Long for the 3 years of support that the CFMEU and ETU had already provided especially given the COVID impacts for the bulk of that time and stated that the whole club was very thankful for the 3-year extension.

A formal announcement will be made in the New Year.
