Heath Scotland Appointed Coaching Director

The Port Melbourne Football Club has appointed Heath Scotland to the position of Coaching Director within the VFL program.
Scotland will provide an additional level of support and knowledge to the coaching staff, particularly within the coaches box on a match day, which will allow Head Coach, Adam Skrobalak to coach more from the bench and work face to face with our young playing group during a match. In addition, Scotland will provide ongoing coaching and education to our players both one on one as needed and as a collective group.
Scotland played 268 games of AFL Football (53; Collingwood and 215; Carlton) primarily as a defender. He was an AFL All Australian in 2011, won Carlton’s Best & Fairest in 2012 and was a part of Carlton’s leadership group from 2007-2012.
He has a large amount of coaching experience having won two premierships at local level football and holding development and assistant coaching roles with North Melbourne AFL program, specifically working with their first to four-year players.
Football Manager, Glenn Balmforth says, “We are rapt to have somebody of Heath’s caliber at the club working with our coaches and players.”
Scotland’s strengths are his leadership and knowledge of the game, tactics and structures, and ability to work with and educate young players.
