Following an inspection of the ground by AFL Victoria earlier today – our centre square has unfortunately been deemed unsafe for play – hence this Saturday’s Round 11 game against Geelong has been relocated to Williamstown Football Ground (Morris Street, Williamstown).
The starting time for the Round 11 game this Saturday 16th June against Geelong will remain unchanged at 2:10pm.
The game will also remain as a broadcasted game live on Channel 7, with coverage to commence at 2:00pm.
This is a very disappointing outcome for our club and beyond our control and yet again, reconfirms why the ground needs to be redeveloped.
We naturally understand and share the frustration of you, our members, as well as that of our players, coaches, staff, and sponsors.
Player safety and welfare is of course of utmost importance at all times, hence we need to respect the decision that has been made.
We thank you for your understanding in this matter.
NB. SUPPORTERS PLEASE NOTE:
Our women’s curtain raiser against Chirnside Park that was set down for North Port Oval on Saturday will now be held at JL Murphy’s Reserve (Port Melbourne Colts FC) – Cnr Williamstown Rd & Graham St, Port Melbourne.
The game will still start @ 11:30am.
