The Port Melbourne Football Club is delighted to have confirmed a deal with current Platinum Sponsor Fortburn (Aerospace & Commercial Consultants) to rename North Port Oval for the upcoming 2017 VFL Finals Series.
For the duration of the 2017 season – inclusive of our final home-and-away game against the Coburg Lions – North Port Oval shall be known as ‘Fortburn Stadium’.
This deal will incorporate references to the ground in all competition media, marketing and fixturing as Fortburn Stadium; and is a unique association that has been formed as part of recent collaboration with the club’s Board.
Fortburn are a Port Melbourne-based company who have been long-time supporters of the Borough, and Managing Director George Camov said he was delighted to be strengthening their relationship across to the short-term ground naming rights.
“The three consecutive weekends of VFL Finals are always a terrific showcase of football at the home of the Port Melbourne Football Club,” Camov said.
“For the company to align ourselves with that, we think it’s a fantastic opportunity to continue Fortburn’s support for community-based football, as well as a club with such a rich history.”
Camov said he was also excited by the prospect of the club further expanding their reach into community-based groups and women’s football in the coming years.
The Port Melbourne Football Club is incredibly grateful for the ongoing generosity of George and Fortburn, and look forward to the continuation of our wonderful partnership well in to the future.
