Port Melbourne Football Club Partners With Bendigo Bank

The Port Melbourne Football Club is delighted to confirm the recent news of a significant increase in the previous sponsorship arrangement with the Bendigo Bank (South Melbourne Branch).

The Bendigo Bank have been widely recognised as a leader in providing programs and support within Australian communities for a long period of time, and the Port Melbourne Football Club is proud to partner with such a reputable organisation.

Specifically, the South Melbourne Branch of the Bendigo Bank will become a significant presence at the club in season 2016, as it aims to begin networking, as well as offering products and support to staff, supporters, the Football Department and fellow sponsors at club functions and events.

One of the other major benefits of the sponsorship arrangement will be the Bendigo Bank obtaining naming rights and covering the operation costs of the ‘Tom Lahiff Cup’ in June, an annual inter-school round robin carnival held at North Port Oval. As of 2016, the event will now be known as the ‘Bendigo Bank Tom Lahiff Cup’.

“The South Melbourne Bendigo Bank are very happy to continue to be one of the supporters of the ‘Borough’, and be presented with the opportunity to work with the club when the Tom Lahiff Cup is held later this year,” Branch Manager Alistair Cooke said.

“It is a great community initiative put together by the club and deserves more recognition; with the focus to engage local school children and introduce them to Aussie Rules, and importantly keeping them active as well.”

The club’s recent Pre-Season Player’s Camp provided an opportunity for Alistair to present a variety of information to players and coaches about services they can offer, as well as present a novelty cheque for $5,000 to coach Gary Ayres and captain Toby Pinwill to signify their commitment to the Borough (pictured below).

The Port Melbourne Football Club is excited to be partnering with the Bendigo Bank under such an agreement and looks forward to showing its full amount of support for such a wonderful community-oriented organisation.
