The Port Melbourne Football Club is recruiting for Trainers for the 2018 season for both our VFL Senior Men’s team and our AFL S/E Division 1 Women’s team. These positions represent exciting opportunities for mature-minded, enthusiastic individuals that possess a ‘team-first’ attitude.
The role/s will require working in a tight-knit Training team on training nights & match days. You will be required to commit to most of our match days throughout the season as well as practice matches (March – September) and for at least 1 training session during the week (minimum). The matches (for both competitions) are played on either Saturday and/or Sunday at varied times and locations throughout the season.
Training nights for the VFL Men will be Monday, Wednesday & Friday beginning at 5:30pm. Trainers will be required from 4:30pm to as late as 8pm (session dependant). Preseason training will commence on Monday 27th November.
Women’s training is likely to be scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, however full details (including times, dates, etc.) will be communicated in due course.
To be successful in the role you are required to possess:
– Level 1 or 2 Sports Trainer Certificate.
– Current First Aid including CPR.
You will be required to perform the following tasks:
– Strapping players at training & matches.
– Providing massage therapy at training & matches.
– Providing water at training & matches.
Allied Health training (completed or currently studying) or previous experience within a football club is desirable, but not essential to the role.
The VFL Fixture will be released in December however the season will consist of 18 matches over 21 weeks, commencing on April 7/8 2018. Practice matches will be held in March. Preseason training will commence on November 27.
The AFL S/E Division 1 Women’s Fixture is likely to be released early next year, however the ‘key dates’ mentioned above will be reasonably similar.
