The Port Melbourne Football Club is recruiting for Trainers for the 2019 VFL Season and for our Women’s team. This is an exciting opportunity for mature minded, enthusiastic individuals that possess a team first attitude.
The role will require working in a tight-knit Training team on training nights & match days.
You will be required to commit to most of our match days throughout the season as well as practice matches (March – September) and for at least 1 training session during the week (minimum). The matches are played on either Saturday and/or Sunday at varied times and locations throughout the season.
Men’s Training nights will be Monday, Wednesday & Friday beginning at 5:30pm for preseason at Salesian College, Chadstone. In-season training will be Monday, Wednesday & Thursday/Friday at North Port Oval, 5:30pm start.
Trainers will be required from 4:30pm to as late as 8pm (session dependant). Preseason will commence on Monday 12th November and conclude on Wednesday 19th December and will resume on January 14th.
The Women’s team will train on Tuesday nights starting 16th October – December 18 for preseason at Murphys Reserve, Port Melbourne and will resume in January TBC. In-season training will be held on Tuesdays & Thursdays at North Port Oval, Port Melbourne. All Women’s trainings will start at 6pm.
To be successful in the role you are required to possess:
– Level 1 or 2 Sports Trainer Certificate.
– Current First Aid including CPR.
You will be required to perform the following tasks:
– Strapping players at training & matches.
– Providing massage therapy at training & matches.
– Providing water at training & matches.
Allied Health training (completed or currently studying) or previous experience within a football club is desirable, but not essential to the role.
The VFL Fixture will be released in December however the season will consist of 18 matches over 21 weeks, commencing on April 6th/7th 2019. Practice matches will be held in March.
The Women’s season will start in late April – early May with practice matches prior to that.
