20-year-old Tasmanian, Jordan Lane has signed with the Port Melbourne Football Club for 2023.

The key forward stands tall at 201cm and finished off his 2022 season taking home the Matthew Richardson Medal, for being voted the Best Under 23 Player in the Tasmanian State League.

“I am very excited about the opportunity given to me, and I can’t wait to get over there and get stuck into it with a proud club like Port Melbourne,” says Lane.

Lane averaged 13 disposals, 8 marks (4 of those contested), and 2.5 goals a match for the Kingborough Tigers in 2022. Over his 18 games during the season, Lane tallied 43 goals for the Tigers, coming 5th in the league for goals kicked.

Jordan Lane Highlights

In 2021 he won a Premiership with the Cygnet Football Club in the Southern Football League and added captaincy to his list of achievements, leading the representative side for the Southern Football League.

“We are pleased to have a talented player like Jordan committed to making the move interstate to join the Borough,” says Football Manager, Glenn Balmforth.

“We wanted to identify a player who can come in and play an important role for us up forward and Jordan certainly ticks all those boxes, with his ability to push up the ground, work back hard and be a strong marking target for us as well as his ability to go through the ruck.”
