The final match of 2022 is here and down the coast we go. After a thrilling comeback last weekend against Frankston, Port Melbourne will look to end their win-loss streak (that’s been running since round 7) with a win over Geelong. Both sides are very even across many statistics throughout the season, and currently, the Borough is sitting one step higher on the ladder.
There are two changes heading into round 22, with injury sidelining Dirk Koenen and Mitch Lewis. Key-midfielder Marcus Lentini will return from a week off with a shoulder injury and Jack Johnston will also make his way back into the side.
The last time these two sides met in a home and away season was in round 18 of the 2019 season at ETU Stadium where Geelong won the match by 23-points. Both sides met again in week one of the 2019 finals series where Port Melbourne had a solid 40-point win over the Cats.
