Runner-up VFLW leading goal kicker joins the Borough

Jessie Williams has jumped on board with the Port Melbourne Football Club for the 2023 season.

The 27-year-old, 164cm forward has been recruited from Hawthorn VFLW where she kicked 21 goals for the 2022 season, coming equal runners-up in the VFLW leading goal kicker award.

Williams knows what it takes to be a part of a professional sporting environment, playing high-level soccer for 18 years before being selected by the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos AFLW side as a cross-coder for the 2019 season. Representing Hawthorn in the VFLW for the past two seasons has seen her become a very dangerous small forward, causing plenty of headaches for opposition sides.

“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Port family this season and continue my footballing journey. I look forward to meeting the team and contributing positively to what is hopefully a very successful season for the club,” says Williams.
